No more chargers with Iphones: what does this mean for you?

What changes for iPhone 12
Apple now assumes that everyone has a power supply at home to charge their phone, which is why it has decided to remove the charger from the box of its iPhone 12 and all other products in the range. The second surprise is that the cable supplied in the box is not the traditional USB-A -> Lightning cable that fits most chargers on the market, but a USB-C -> Lightning cable, which is much less common.

Take advantage of fast charging
Using a 20W charger and a USB-C -> Lightning cable, you can benefit from "Power Delivery" fast charging, with the battery going from 0 to 50% in around 30 minutes. This fast charge also applies to all iPhones from iPhone 8 upwards. If you use a 12W or 5W charger, the charging time is drastically extended.

What does this mean for your customers?
To take advantage of the new fast charge, your customers will have to upgrade their existing equipment. The new iPhone standard (USB-C -> lightning) will therefore lead to the sale of at least one charger, to which will probably be added additional sales of cables and chargers. This represents a good opportunity to increase the customer basket, which will already contain the usual protective accessories, essential for phones priced at around €1,000.
